Nature on the Go
Nature on the Go was founded by husband-and-wife team Jo Varsani and Sanjay Patel, with one simple mission – to make fresh, plant-based food accessible, nutritious and full of flavour.
For Jo, this journey became deeply personal. After Covid, her digestive health changed dramatically. Eating out became increasingly difficult, as many places advertised vegetarian or vegan options but prepared them alongside other foods. Even the smallest amount of cross-contact or ingredients her body couldn't tolerate often left her with severe stomach pain for days.
Like many people with food intolerances, Jo was often told she was "fussy" or "picky", when in reality she was simply trying to avoid becoming unwell. It made her realise how many others face the same daily challenge and how difficult it can be to find somewhere they can eat with confidence.
That's why Nature on the Go was created.
We wanted to build a place where people with dietary requirements, allergies, intolerances and lifestyle choices could enjoy fresh, delicious food without feeling like an afterthought. Our menu is entirely plant-based, with a strong focus on dairy-free and nut-free options, making it easier for more people to enjoy eating out together.
Located in the heart of Halstead High Street, Nature on the Go is more than just a café. It's a welcoming space where everyone can enjoy colourful Buddha bowls, freshly pressed juices, handcrafted sandwiches, homemade desserts, vegan afternoon teas and creamy dairy-free gelato — all prepared with care, flavour and inclusivity at the heart of everything we do.

Every dish is freshly prepared using quality ingredients, bold flavours and plenty of love. We take pride in creating food that is nourishing, satisfying and full of colour, proving that plant-based food is anything but boring.
Sustainability is equally important to us. Wherever possible, we serve our food in environmentally friendly, compostable packaging made from naturally fallen palm leaves, helping reduce plastic waste while caring for our planet.
At Nature on the Go, we're passionate about creating a place where people feel welcomed, understood and confident that their food has been prepared with the same care we'd expect for our own family.
